Somme 1916
The 1st July 1916 is for the British the beginning of the battle of the Somme. Thiepval memorial, Ulster Tower, Beaumont Hamel, Delville Wood, Lochnaghar Crater remind us to those actions. We visit those sites during our British and Canadian tours.
Later the Australians and New Zealanders reinforce and sites such as Pozieres, Windmill, Mouquet Farm, Sunken Road, Longueval, Albert and Sausage Valley are for ever related to the memory of the fallen Anzacs.
